Information
Iconian Knights is a guild of friends who play WoW for our enjoyment. We started in Tachyon May 1, 2000 and have continued on through many games. Our players are determined, supportive, and helpful with one another. We are primarily 18+ years in age, some a lot more then others. Our members range from being casual players to players who are present every night.
We like to classify ourselves as a raiding guild that has a casual feel in the amount of time we spend raiding. Our plans are to have a good balance of advancement and progression mixed with enjoyment and fun. Overall, as a guild we seek to enjoy and have fun with the content of the game.
We are a casual guild as we only raid 3 and rarely 4 nights a week but we do expect online members to commit to being at these raids. We are a raiding guild in that on these raiding nights we expect players to bring their A game and be prepared to give it their all. Many of us raided hardcore Pre-BC and prefer to have somewhat of a life again, thus the 3 night raid schedule.
We aren't a leveling guild, we do have members of lower levels but they don't expect us to run them through content. The lower end content helps teach you how to play your class and a run through has no part of that. We expect our people to have a grasp of their class and the mechanics of it. We expect you to play your class to the best of your abilities.
We aren't an alt guild, while we do have a lot of alts and getting gear on alts can be fun, your main should be your first priority. If you have alts in other guilds raiding, make sure we know about it, we do expect you here raiding on your main for our raids unless officer permission is given ahead of time. We are probably more understanding about this then most guilds are but yes we do have a line.
Our biggest focus is teamwork, being on top of the dps meters doesn't mean everything however, we expect you to perform to the best of your abilities. Being a great DPSer for example means you know how to ride the line between damage output and agro and you are responsible enough not to pull agro and wipe the raid. DPS meters, healing meters, etc. are fine but NOT DURING A RAID. You could be the best player in the game but if you can't work as a team member then you have no place raiding.
Code of Conduct within the Iconian Knights
1) Respect
Respect your fellow members. Respect those outside of the guild. Refrain from abusive or threatening behavior, as it reflects on the guild. Any harassment will not be tolerated. While we don't regulate guild chat or vent chat, there should still be a sense of decency even as odd as ours is, occasional swear words are fine. If your offended easily this might not be the place for you, but at the same time extended amounts of vulgarity aren't tolerated. If such offenses should happen, all people involved are requested to contact an officer, so that that matter can be investigated and appropriate action taken.
2) Dignity
Do not debase yourself or the guild in public channels by engaging in petty arguments. We understand that sometimes, our pride gets the better of our judgment. Try to keep said instances to a minimum. Do not beg or solicit equipment or money (this differs from asking a guild member/friend. You know full well what we mean). Such will not be well received by the officers, the members, or the community. All in all don't be an asshat.
3) Enjoyment
Iconian Knights is a raiding casual guild. However, we are also friends, and for some, we are family. We play this game to have fun. While the aforementioned seems like a no-brainer as regards to you, we mention this in regards to your fellow guild members. Remember, we play together. In many cases, our enjoyment is mutually dependant on each other. Simply put, be considerate of other guild members? enjoyment, and if possible, avoid behavior that would detract from other people's play experience.
4) The Goat
Please refrain from feeding her it makes her cranky to be fed off schedule.
Player Requirements
1.) Job Duties
All members need to declare their job role. Once you declare your job role we expect you do be that job role on all raids. If you are a warrior and you say your job role is to be a tank, do not show up to a raid specced or geared for DPS. You will be a full-time tank and barring an act of god will never take a dps slot. The same goes for any class. It's fine if you do other jobs on non raid nights but on raid nights you're expected to be same job and spec to do that job. If you can't make this commitment please do not apply.
2.) Performance
We expect you to know your class extremely well. Gear can always be obtained, bought, or farmed but class and skill is not something we can give you. It is your obligation and part of being a raider to know your role against any given mob. There are numerous places you can look for answers. If you do not know of any, ask... Such questions that should be paramount are gear choices. Spec options. Enchant and gem possibilities. Encounter dynamics and how your class, and you specifically, fit in. Ultimately, one of the greatest resources we have is each other. Do not hesitate to ask. Lastly, we have required add-ons for anyone to raid. You will use them or you will not raid.
3.) Attendance
Be on during raid times, we are a raiding guild and as such we have 3 scheduled raid nights each week (occasionally 4), we ask that they are attended. When you apply, we request your available time to raid as part of that process. It is your responsibility to come to raids, on time and prepared. If you cannot comply with what you said, notify an officer as soon as is possible, or post in the appropriate section on the forums. Do not begin a pickup, or any, instance run that you cannot finish. |
